a surprising house release, muredo, an ep with a generous acoustics in which the rythm is frontal but the story is told just behind. the raf are two habitual offenders of the well done track. when the muredo track slowly wakes you up and meticulously tries hard to describe the morning gestures, murefa carry on with a breathless ride. the second inspiration is only taken when everything had come to an end, in a calmness orchestrated by val at the helm of an abstract groovy remix. this ep is the first signature on the recent french label seconde and a lot of things are supposed to come soon.

made fresh daily follow up killer 12 inches from geddes and mikki funk with the debut solo ep from rising house producer jackmaster k. though indebted to the current vogue for the sounds of 90s house, jackmaster ks productions are filled with enough unexpected twists and turns to keep the formula fresh, *house aint givin up* switches things up with its nyc electro stabs, saxophone solo and swelling sub-bass, while *get up* takes things into deeper territory with its thick bassline and dubbed out, candy sweet rhodes melodies. on the remix, james johnston flips *get up* inside out, giving it some classic new jersey bump and flex, and busying up the arrangement with added organs, while rosenhafts take on *house aint givin up* is much more expansive, allowing the bassline to breathe in a spacious composition of pitched vocals and drawn out chords.

like the satisfying first sip of soda water spritz, roland tings debut ep, *milky way*, bubbles, barms, and beads through your body. roland tings is rohan newman, a melbourne producer who, like recent rubies holy balm, forces, and canyons, proves there is just more and more greatness behind the great and powerful oz. melodic acid trips doused with swish-ticky-booms, like a rubber ball in space with endless bump and bounce. sweet off his japanese jaunt, speeding things down with sapphire slows shows, newmans taste is pure effervescence and buoyancy. but he has got a percussive stickiness as well, a vim/vigor that raps and rips through trax touch-ups and echo-plexes. not the nineties but the none-ties – no glimmer glam, or sampladelic vocal vacations, or happy house heartbeats. he ends the creamy *milky way* with a brilliantly wonky theme that springs like a wind-up toy gone loose. roland tings, dings, and zings.

once again labelheads andré galluzzi & dana ruh teamed up at the studios for one long session and born was this art of peaktime attack! front side is a 10 minute heavy bass bomb filled with danas understanding for subtile things and andrés love for freaky details. flip side comes with well arranged drums and shaking percussions for moving your butts on the floor.

the release opens with quite baked, a stripped, low-slung cut that embraces loose, swung drums and rolling low-end rumbles. the record adapts to a simplistic hooky structure that allows subtle transitional periods to keep things captivating, infusing a blend of gritty elements that gleam with analogue sparkles and warmth, resulting in a tasteful slice of rough and ready house music. next up is as olways, taking things in a deeper direction with smooth rhodes chords driving the melodic movement.

is it balearic hit their late 20s with another superb release - this time craig bratley steps up with analogue dreams. craig has earnt quite a reputation from only a handful of releases, including the weatherall favourite and classic cut >birdshell< on instruments of rapture. on analgue dreams, craig lays down a gently evolving, acid tinged piano slow burner, all mood and melody. first up on the remix we have the ever essential bonar bradberry who amps things up and takes a clonking bass riff down the disco for a real good time. on the flip crimea x pare the musical elements right down and build an epic remix from the raw ingredients, employing live percussion and shimmering synths. finally joes bakery dial down the tempo and incorporate some deft acoustic guitar and gentle moodswings alongside the musical elements of the original.

edec lashes back with some raw techno from alexander d niel. this young argentine has been on the cusp and breath of techno heavyweights the past year. edec007 is no different with a stricter form to the words underground techno. from one new talent to another as we also welcome bostons young techno heroes b-tracks. known for killer sets at panorama bar and their releases on supply records, the duo decide to revamp things up twice. double the pleaser double the fun.

boris bunnik goes under many aliases. numerous smaller projects, some huge faceless projects but mostly known and well respected for his conforce project. as versalife he found his way to the clone familia for his night time activities project, and around this same period we just managed to pull out the best suitable tracks for frustrated funk. versalife is electro-techno in its purest form. deep and intense analog rhythms with crisp percussion patterns slightly touching the more experimental side of things. this ep is a nice balanced mixture of industrial drone material to more classic sounding electro with versalifes own signature strength. highly recommended as always!

jack dice is a new project from john twells and walkmaster flex, now releasing their debut ep for modern love. john twells, amongst very many other things, runs the type label and has been producing music of various different disciplines and varieties over the last 15 years. although hes never released anything on modern love before, hes a long time friend and associate of the label. walker is the manager of main attrakionz and has been djing with them for the last couple of years as the official green ova dj. jack dice is fuelled by an interest in bass, twells being a car audio nerd and walker having an obsession with 90s southern rap music. these are their first tracks produced together, who know what might follow.

pulse locker refers to the analog method of synching analog modular instruments and drum machines, a method of working john tejada & josh humphrey have embraced to generate their trademark sounds and grooves. preferring to work away from the computer as much as possible, john and josh have adapted a more old school approach to their work, syncing analog gear together, not from a computer, but the way it was synced back in the day. the results are a tight, organic analog sound showcased particularly by the 2nd track >bifur gates<. with a tr-808 as master clock, syncing the modular system, the sound takes you back to the mid 90s era of techno. real 808 beats, punchy bass and an ever so shifting classic chord line will leave you lingering for the days of old. on the a side, >pulse locker< with its big and warm groove, gets things moving with a blend of house and techno. rounding out the ep, >unanimous arc< showcases the mad acid sounds possible on the sh-101 while modular chords elevate the track to a manic pace. >pulse locker< marks the duos third collaboration on palette recordings.

incl 2 bit crew, lgg, volta cab and rosenhaft. 2 bit crews just cant seem. taking a sound heavily influenced by the underground house music / garage sound of the 90s, this is a bumping groove with a driving bassline and hatswith a simple female vocal sample that will stick in your brain. the second track takes things deeper with bastien carrara aka lgg with let me, smooth rhodes chords with a love sensation sample underpinned by raw beats and sub-bass. on the second side things get a little tougher. the third track is from a producer who has had many releases already on labels such as balance alliance, seven music and undertones, konstantyn isaev, better known as volta cab. his track what is underground focuses primarily on a killer bassline, retro synth stabs and a cheeky hip-hop sample used to great effect. finally is haim rosenhaft, a young producer from israel with 1992, his homage consists of an old school organ sound with heavy kicks and snares influenced by the sound of labels like umm and cleveland city in the 90s. again this will be a vinyl only release

after all efforts were put into jacob korns debut album during summer 2012 uncanny valley strikes back with namesake jacob stoy and his very first solo ep after his s51 for the uv010-compilation. everything starts with redensart, a sunny piece of music with a sneaky bassline and easy synth pads that come across like a warm rain shower: its house in the end but feels like so much more. hauswart is an impressive example of how one can create a whole atmosphere of sound within two minutes. its short but feels so comfortable that you really like it to go on and on forever. start is maybe the most conventional deep house track on the ep and seduces with catchy synth chords and thrilling drums. finally gegenwart brings things to a jazzy end with tipsy synths and tripping percussions. the artwork comes from none other than jacobs father olaf stoy, who is a painter, lyricist and porcelain designer still working in jacobs hometown rabenau near dresden.

a romanian collective of 3 different artist. each track based around a funk within each bassline. all inviting the listener to the dance floor. atlantziiduo comes from bucharest with a strong base around natural drums & percussions. their track >antilopa< a warm bass that brings out the groove as the gentle ambient pad drifts across drops of wood blocks and open hats egal 3 is no stranger having been on the tongues and tables of many clubs the past 2 years. this young addition the yimuzik family grimes out >remaster< for b1. funky bass hook grabs the listener building up to the piano drop. melody overlaps snare rolls as the blessing vocal sample gives praise. derek, another stallion to yimuzik stable, spices things up with >skjape<on b2. a storm of rhythm with a rounder bass and touch of rawness.

>hier ist nicht da< is a dream scapy techno jazz poem that has the potential to carry you away to outer space. you can clearly sense dadas affinity for cage & stockhausen which makes this record quite a special one. dadaglobal is part of zürichs electronic music scene for many many years, involving himself at the most infamous venues in switzerland. dada is performing live with machines only, combining all the things that make him who he is: smart, sensitive, expressive, genuine and educated in classical music. nice try records is also very happy to announce a trippy old school contribution to this release by lausannes producer and dj ly sander.

slowly building, soul-soothing, and disco-fuelled house with a nod to both the great masters from chicago and the new electronic breed. lisbon producer and lux resident ramboiage likes to take it slow to take things further. >del fuego< kicks off modestly with a simple beat and some light percussion, creating and eerie mood. but then some tasty, disco-fuelled heavy house kicks in, and the tune starts to roll unstoppable, riding on a horn hook. funky like a train, as the mighty equals would say. spanish om records darling al velilla steps up the pace a little bit and lets the original float over some tasty discohouse beats and eighties-flavoured synths.

a brand new act, does not compute lean towards the classic sounds of old - but with first rate production that is very much cutting edge. invoking the underground sounds first pioneered on v by the likes of artificial intelligence, does not compute are a breath of fresh air for the dnb scene.

londons dogmatik label goes from strength to strength and after the success of the dusky – flojam ep, they deliver yet again with peace divisions mighty blacklight sleeze. opening with the dirty and sexy remix by dyed soundorom this one show to be for the true house playas who want their tracks bassline driven, sexy and full of tension high. on the flip we got man of the moment gerd spicing things up and preparing his acid sleaze mix ready for the sleaziest darkrooms. his tough sleaze mix is going straight for the main floor with a heavy pulsating bass setting the tone with hypnotic vocals on top in a classic and timeless chicago house way. a solid 12 inch release.

two inch punch is from west london. he describes himself as a frustrated soul / rnb singer, with an ear for harmony, melody & a love for dub, rap and soul. inspired heavily by beatles short love-songs, sam cookes heartfelt melodies and donny hathaways incredible vocal tones. this is an incredible debut from someone destined for big things. you heard it here first

deep house emporium ornate music cast their worldly gaze to the far east, calling on japanese producer sai, a graduate of agness sthlm audio imprint, for a killer four track ep entitled bedroom eyes. the sultry, suggestive nature of the title is translated into the tunes on offer, with opening cut >2am< offering the most subtle of acid lines alongside piano flourishes and a spoken word vocal snippet. better still is the afterhours bump of >blue lingerie<, while >mr< toughens things up on the flip with a analogue grit and cooing vox. the 12 inch is rounded off with another original cut in >another myself<, which is dripping in classic motor city house vibes with gently oscillating bass tones reaching deep down inside.

>blurry< runs at 133bpm allowing it to sit neatly between dubstep tempo and the increasingly popular 125-130 bpm bass / house scene that has been developing in the uk over the last couple of years. taking things down an ongy-bongy path, this rhythm provides the soundtrack to a hunter chasing his prey through a humid jungle landscape, with fast weaving beats charged heavy by the deadly subs. the heat is on.
>spearhead< sees roska making a rare 140bpm trip, taking this rhythmical excursion neatly into dubstep tempo territory, creating an original cut which sits in its own world of tribal grime. the bassline pounds heavy, eventually rising upward before suddenly plummeting back down to the murky depths from where it came, and back round again. dis-hyeer quality dubstep music produced pon the other side of the looking glass.
